“The Truth of Time, the Illusion of Relationship”
is the first solo exhibition by new artist Witsanupong Noonan.
The boundless imagination of Witsanupong straddles the juncture between painting and sculpture, with color and volume seemingly engaged in dialogue. Witsanupong is interested in the conditions and influences of time, the truth of every increment of time representing an overlap between bonds of the past, the present and the future.
Witsanupong produces his work by painting on a sculpted background, which creates a dimensional optical illusion. He begins by looking at empty spaces, objects, people and events, then translates them into a story told through painting and sculpture over time.
Witsanupong Noonan’s creative powers have brought him wide acclaim. His works have won several awards, including bronze medal honors at the 55th National Exhibition of Art and the 26th Exhibition of Contemporary Art by Young Artists.
