Hybrid Technology by Porntaweesak Rimsakul
100 Tonson Gallery proudly presents the last exhibition of this year 2010 “Hybrid Technology” by Porntaweesak Rimsakul, who creates art for fun. He was distant since the last solo show ‘Porntaweesak’s exhibition’ in 2006 that leaded him to participate in several international exhibition such as, ATTITUDE 2007, The Contemporary Art Museum, Kumamoto, Japan and the only Thai Artist who shown in 10th International Istanbul Biennial, Turkey in 2007. The audiences are looking forward to see his next show.



Porntaweesak Rimsakul creates contemporary objects, focusing on interaction between art and audiences, and this project is under concept of daily life energy. Especially, electric energy which people use them for convenience and easiness. Most of people think about usability whereas they ignore process and methods. Several new created-objects touch upon the deep thinking of energy will be selected to show at 100 Tonson Gallery from Dec 16, 2010 – Jan 23, 2011.
The opening reception will be on Thursday December 16, 2010 at 7 pm.

Artist Profiles:
Porntaweesak Rimsakul

Born in 1979 in Udonthani, northern Thailand. Graduating from the Department of Visual Arts in Bangkok University in 2002, and a Master's degree in Painting from Silapakorn University 2005, Rimsakul’s works have been presented at many international art exhibitions. These include the 2005 Actes de Fe i de Generositat, a performance with Peter Baren at La Bisbal d'Empordà & Barcelona in Spain, T1 Torino Triennale Tremusei at Castello di Rivoli Museo d'Arte Contemporanea, Rivoli, Turin, Italy, and Politics of Fun at Haus Der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin, Germany (travelling to Austria and Japan). In September-October 2006, his works were exhibited at Soi Project 2006 at the Saint–Sulpice, Paris, in early 2007 Rimsakul participated in the group show All About Laughter at the Mori Art Museum, Tokyo, ZKM: Thermocline of Art, Asian New Waves at ZKM in Germany, and ATTITUDE 2007 at the Contemporary Art Museum, Kumamoto, Japan. Moreover being the only Thai artist in the 10th International Istanbul Biennial, Turkey, 2007. Rimsakul participates in Busan Biennale, Korea and Kuandu Biennale, Taiwan 2008. and Fluid Zones Jakarta Biennale, Indonesia 2009.
