Regularly, the artist will show variable size and diverse image
printed and pinned on the wall. The works on wall is quite relatively
indistinct, comparing to the rest journals. Kornkrit’s works on the
wall may address both reality investigation and emotional imprint,
captured by his handy medium; photography. Kornkrit inquires after an
interplay between texture and surface within the flatness of photos.
He addresses his inquiries to the limit of photographic medium. By
installing smoothly on the wall with pins, also different kinds of
paper and printing methods.
Kornkrit Jianpinidnun has been working with various medium since he
was graduated from the Faculty of Fine Art, Chiang Mai University in
1999. His debut in Bangkok art scene, by exhibited “Neo Romantic”
anchored his name as an emerging artist. Kornkrit applies photography
as a medium to capture recurrent banality of his generation. All
reflects despair and insecurity by an overridden media interfaced-
society that stunned his generation, whom fed up with overflowed
information. Together with the atmosphere of spontaneous connection in
information society that was largely boomed in late 1990s.
Consequently, his early works are always resonant to snapshot
aesthetics and filmic overtone. As a result of his obsession,
Kornkrit’s works are both fascinating and peculiar. Though, his
recent exhibition may privately recalls his experience, which is
concurrently reshaping his inner psychic landscape. The landscape that
holds up his memory. But it can be both self nurturing and also
leaving some traces of his humanly condition into his photo journal.
It is the condition that shares some feeling with his colleagues such
as anxiety, happiness, despair, anger and fear.
Opening reception : Friday, November 27, 2009. From 6 p.m. onwards.
