BLOW IN by Susu Pianchupattana

"BLOW IN" Art Exhibition by Susu Pianchupattana
It doesn't matter where you are on this planet, one day you will get a home coming call from your heart that you cannot resist. Susu Pianchupattana, was as far away from home as New York on her 7-year road as an artist.      Today, the wind blows her back to her home, with "Blow In" art exhibition, her very first exhibition in Thailand, which will be displaying all her art collection that she has accumulated for the past 7 years as an aspiring artist.       CICADA Art Factory presents the beauty of the art world, known as "semi-abstract," which is created out of the inspiration of the landscape of places that she has visited, and expressed in her own unique way with the sweet, yet strong colours. This is something that is rare to find and somewhat lacking in Thai female artists.

"Blow In" art exhibition, was partly inspired by the fact that Susu was the first female artist who lived and worked in CICADA Art Factory, an open space studio that is surrounded by over 100-year old trees. The factory is situated in Hua Hin, under the management of HOF Art Center with the concept of "Artist in Residence." The exhibition is held in an open space, giving the artist the ability to feel air, the spaciousness, and the surrounding nature such as sea and trees. All of which give an inspiration to the landscape, just like the art-pieces exhibited here.

"Blow In" art exhibition by Susu Pianchupattana  will have the official opening on 13th March 2010, from 06:00 p.m. - 07:00 p.m. at CICADA Art Factory, Hua Hin, Prachuapkhirikhan. The entire exhibition runs from 1st March - 4th April 2010. The studio open from 10:00 a.m. - 07:00 p.m. (Monday - Thursday) and 10:00 a.m. - 10:30 p.m. (Friday - Sunday).

Prism by Pichet Klunchun and Kornkrit Jianpinidnan

100 Tonson Gallery presents spectacular collaboration between 2 outstanding artists, Pichet Klunchun and Kornkrit Jianpinidnan, “Prism” curated by Thanavi Chotpradit.

This is the show where space emerges from disciplinary encounter (performing arts and visual arts) and the parallel narratives. With his photograph book and installation, Kornkrit Jianpinidnan’s “The House No.1” transforms 100 Tonson Gallery into a space in-between the world of Thai traditional literature and the world of reality for Pichet Klunchun to perform “Ganesh” which is not simply telling a story about his losing a tusk, but is really a reflection of what we are facing in our present society.    In our world there are distortions, concealing of facts and addiction to power.

Known and seen internationally, more often than in Thailand, the performance by Pichet Klunchun will be, for the first time, shown in a visual art space, right downtown in the city of Bangkok.  This will be the opportunity for Thailand-based audience to view his spectacular performance without having to travel overseas.  With prism-like, reflective stage, the audience of Ganesh will be absorbed into the stage and subsequently, partake in this performance while watching the show.

“Ganesh”, the performance will be opened 10 rounds (approximately 1 hour each). There will be only 40 seats in each show, please reserve ticket in advance to avoid disappointment by contacting 100 Tonson Gallery through email, info@100tonsongallery.com or mobile phone: 081-910-9440.  Ticket is 1000 baht with complimentary refreshments and canapés by Plaza Athenee Bangkok, A Royal Meridian.  (Students: 700 baht).  Please come early to enjoy the servings, once the performance starts, food and entry will not be allowed.

Jakraphan Chaijit 2000-2010...me and elephant effect

“Jakraphan Chaijit 2000-2010...me and elephant effect”

"Elephant" is in my work for more than 20 years. For me, it is not an animal, but it is the spirit, the soul, that I try to carry out something deep inside to the world outside.

In this exhibition, it is ten years period of time since 2000-2010 that I deal with the development of the northern intellect and technique in wood carving to painting as you see in the present day.
I hope that this exhibition can make people understand elephant, love elephant, take care of elephant and I hope that it can be the inspiration of people of the new generation to think, to learn how to think, for raising the mind to end the misunderstanding between man and man for making the world more peaceful, more beautiful.

Muse by Namsom Supanan

"Muse" By Namsom Supanan
From March 30th to May 9th, 2010
At ARDEL's Third Place Gallery (Sukhumvit 55, Thonglor soi 10)

Following the trail of her well-received first solo exhibition ?Reverie? at Rose Garden Gallery, Namsom Supanan a young artist from Silpakorn University comes back with her latest solo exhibition ?Muse? at the heart of the city.

Namsom creates a new series of painting from her ongoing concept about dream and reality. She has doubted that between ?dream? and ?reality? which one is greater? Because she finds that for several times a figment of imagination can surprisingly reflect more reality than what can be done by the reality itself. Underneath the soft willowy lines and the vastly secluded background, viewers may find poems intermingle with imaginations; emotions that are blended with desires. The artist muses upon her ideas of dream and reality, remarkbly depicting them through her dreamy depiction.

ARDEL's Third Place Gallery requests for your support to kindly promote the upcoming exhibition.
