Sombat Permpoon Gallery is delighted to present abstract contemporary paintings and sculptures “ Impromptu ” (Don-sod) by Naruemon Padsamran.

Naruemon’s work is inspired by her appreciation of the unique, lively tempo and conversational style of singing in found in the type of Thai folk music from the Isaan area known as Luk –Tung and Mor-Lam. From this passion for the music, Naruemon creates her art by evolving old Thai folk concert billboards into abstract contemporary paintings and sculptures which convey the “postures” and “rhythm” of Thai Folk music dancers, known as Hang-Kreung. These dancers, usually found performing behind the singers, are moved, from a typical outdoor stage where such concerts are staged, to a gallery space, as part of Naruemon’s vision to communicate the movement and music within a still object.

“Impromptu” Mo-Lam is defined as composing music while in the moment, simultaneously singing or playing an instrument in response to another Mo-Lam band. Naruemon also defines the “Impromptu” series as a conversation within herself, using her success and learning from her failures in the past 3 years to create series of dialogues within her creativity and materials into her improvisation (Don-sod)of Mo-Lam

Sombat Permpoon Gallery is proud to present ‘Gaysorn Silpa’, a collection of artworks from a community of six artist friends. These friends developed artistically through their combined passion for art, likened to various types of flowers found in a garden that were nurtured and blossomed in the same environment. Like these flowers, these friends grew up together, sharing and learning, yet in their similarities, finding their differences as they blossomed and their own individual style.

Sombat Permpoon Gallery is delighted to present “WisamunYoGA” by Wisamunmuang Sitthiket, a photography exhibition.

Sitthiket, a renowned contemporary photographer translates softness, freedom and beauty into erotic photography.

“WisamunYOGA means ‘unusual yoga’. Forms who flow with passion and dance to melodies of shutter speeds. Features that move along with the sound of heart beats, resonating rumbles from the earth’s crust through their bones as wave trembling through their nerves.” - Wisamunmuang Sitthiket




Wisamunmuang Sitthiket was born in Nakornsawan and graduated from The Collage of Fine Art in Bangkok in 1979. His work has appeared in numerous magazines including, Model Magazine, Cute Magazine and Max Magazine. In 2007 Sitthiket, a freelance photographer and owner of Wisamun Studio launched Wisamun Workshop where he teaches in unique nude photography classes.
